Physiotherapy is an independent health profession which is mainly directed towards the prevention or alleviation of movement dysfunction in people. One who specializes in this field in known as “Physiotherapist”.Physiotherapists work within a wide variety of health settings to improve a broad range of physical problems associated with different ‘systems’ of the body. Physiotherapists work autonomously, often as a member of a team with other health or social care professionals. Physiotherapy practice is characterized by reflective behaviour and systematic clinical reasoning, both contributing to and underpinning a problem-solving approach to patient-centric care.The aim of physiotherapy is to optimize someone’s range of movement and function whilst at the same time reducing pain and preventing recurrence.Physiotherapy career can rise to a variety of challenging & interesting jobs in the health care system.
The students in the B.Sc. in Physiotherapy Management and Health Care program at SKFGI would have to undergo a rigorous academic engagement with parallel exposure to hospitals/Nursing Homes/Physiotherapy centers for real time learning. The students would be able to recognize the role of Physiotherapy in the context of the health needs of the community and National priorities in the health sector. They would also be able to perform a safe, systematic and appropriate physiotherapy assessment for various conditions. This course at SKFGI prepares the students to demonstrate all necessary skills of a physiotherapist and also demonstrate professional outlook towards current needs in health care management.
