Scholarships
At SKFGI, students can avail various types of scholarships, as announced by State and Central Government from time to time.

Central Government has started a National Scholarships Portal as a one-stop solution through which various services starting from student application, application receipt, processing, sanction and disbursal of various scholarships to Students are enabled. National Scholarships Portal is taken as Mission Mode Project under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). You can vist the website here: https://scholarships.gov.in

Following are the popular scholarships that our students avail in college:
Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Minorities
This scholarship is the most popular one, merit cum means based scholarship for the students of West Bengal. This scholarship involves a monthly of rupees 8000 (eight thousand rupees) to the selected scholarship candidates. This amount is being provided by the government of West Bengal. The candidates have to apply till the last date of application

Conditions applied:

  • Must be a resident of West Bengal
  • The applicant must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in class 10th
  • The applicant must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in class 12th
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 55% marks in their graduation (engineering)
  • If the candidate is at the P.G. level then 53% marks minimum required
  • The annual income of the family should not exceed 2.5 lacs
Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship
This scholarship has been offered by the Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata.

This is an every year plan where students can apply once the portal open for it. The Bigyani Kanya Medha Briti Scholarship is only applicable to the GIRL students. This scholarship is applicable for all girls currently pursuing an under graduation in engineering/science/medicine.

The aim of this scholarship is to empower women, promote education rights and conserve their talent.

The selected candidates will get a monthly of rupees 3000 scholarship amount.

Conditions applied:

  • The candidate must have the domicile of West Bengal, who are belonging from SC/ST/OBC category
  • Students studying in 10th, 12th, graduation or post graduation level are only eligible for this scholarship program
  • The annual family income should not exceed 2.5 lacs. (for SC and ST)
  • The annual income for OBC families should not exceed 1 lac
West Bengal Post Matric Scholarship SC/ST/OBC
Candidates can apply for this scholarship, generally between the month of September to November every year. This scholarship is also being provided by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, West Bengal. This scholarship is valid for students who have completed their matriculation or post-secondary level. The student must belong to the SC /ST/OBC category.

The selected candidates will receive monthly of rupees 160/- to rupees 1200/- as the scholarship amount.

Conditions applied:

  • Firstly, the candidate must have the domicile of West Bengal
  • The applicant must be in 11th,12th, graduation or postgraduation level
  • The family income of the candidate (sc/st) must be between 2 to 2.5 lacs
  • The annual income of the OBC candidate’s family must be less than 1 lac

Aikyashree Scholarship
This scholarship is hosted by West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation for the minority communities residing in the state. Such communities include Muslims, Christians, Jains, Parsis, Sikh and Buddhists.

The eligible candidates can apply for this scholarship when it is available. This scholarship provides financial grants to the meritorious students belonging to the minority communities from Class I to Ph.D. level.

The scholarship amount to at least Rs. 1100/- is granted per year. The amount is subject to vary according to the educational level of the student.

Conditions applied:

  • The student must bear a Domicile Certificate of West Bengal
  • The student must have qualified the previous examination with at least 50% of marks
  • The annual income of the family must not exceed 2.5 lacs

OASIS Scholorship
Online Application for Scholarship to SC, ST and OBC Students in West Bengal has been started. The details can be found out at http://oasis.gov.in/

Apart from these scholarships, financially weaker but meritorious students can apply for tuition fee scholarship, to college trust via admission department.
