Bachelor of Optometry
SKFGI proudly offers a 4 year UG program in Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom). In this course students get educated about the various types of visual disorders, conditions, diseases and abnormalities which affect the human eye. SKFGI offers one of the most engaging optometry program in West Bengal with an approach of focusing on practical problem based and case-based learning in order to improve clinical decision making ability in students and make them prepare for the ever challenging medical profession world.
Students are given opportunities to explore various possibilities and engage directly hands-on with patients via Eye Screening Camps and Observation Fellowship. We focus on the latest ophthalmic examinations techniques practiced in the eye hospitals. We upgrade the knowledge of our students through various seminars from practitioners via the online platform to boost the students with new determination during the pandemic times.For the final year of this 4-year long program, students are given the opportunity for internships. This in turn prepares the students with sufficient industry experience and provides them with the much needed exposure before venturing into becoming full-time Optometrists.
