Master of Computer Applications
Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) is a postgraduate degree program that focuses on computer science and the practical application of computer technology. MCA students acquire strength in principles, concepts and foundations of computer science, information technology and various related applications. They would also have extensive programming / software development experience over a wide variety of platforms / applications. The curriculum has explicitly identified lab components for courses that discuss the principles with an implementation component.

Eligibility

  • Graduation degree with minimum 50% in Graduation & Class 12.

  • A valid rank / allotment of the Joint Entrance Examination for Admission to Master in Computer Application (JECA) conducted by WBJEEB is preferred.
Course Structure
The M.C.A course is divided into two distinct areas, namely:

  • Core Courses : These are department specific compulsory courses to be studied by the student as a core requirement for the M.C.A degree. These courses also include “Summer Project Report and Viva Voice”.

  • Elective Courses : These courses are specific or advanced or supportive to the discipline/ subject/ specialization of study or which provides an extended scope. College offers a wide range of elective courses pertaining to the concerned M.C.A degree.
